Jurassic World Open With A Whopping $204.6 Million This Week!

This week at the box office belongs to Jurassic World with a whopping $204.6 million North America debut to claim the top spot of the TechGeniux top 10 movies the week of June 14, 2015. The film did $18 million on Thursday midnight opening and did an insane $511 million for a total worldwide gross this weekend. The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, B. D. Wong, and Irrfan Khan. I can say with confidence that Chris Pratt was amazing in his first big lead role beyond his Marvel film debut. Based on the rumors I think Pratt would make an excellent replacement for Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones films. The number two slot on our list is occupied by our number one last week, this week Spy falls to number two with $16 million this weekend. The number three movie on our list is San Andreas with $11 million. The Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson disaster film is still holding strong in the top five summer box office films. Next up on list at number four is Insidious Chapter 3 with $7.3 million. To round out the top five this week is Pitch Perfect 2 with $6 million.With a budget of $29 million and worldwide gross of $259 million it seems that discussion of a Pitch Perfect 3 is in the works.

The remaining films in our bottom top 10 are as followed with number six being Entourage with $4.3 million. The number seven film on our list belongs to Mad Max: Fury Road with $4.1 million. The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes in at eight on our list with $3.6 million. Next up is the number nine film; Tomorrowland took in $3.4 million. And last on our top 10 list is bio film Love & Mercy is a 2014 American biographical film directed by Bill Pohlad about musician and songwriter Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. The film took in $1.7 million with a gross total of $4.8 million in its limited release.
