Will The Nintendo NX Console Compete Against PS4 In Terms Of Power?

Posted by: on Jul 6, 2015 | No Comments

Today a new online reported claim that the Nintendo’s new game console the Nintendo NX will not directly compete with the PS4 or Xbox One in terms of power. This makes sense from a gaming perspective and business perspective. Nintendo shifted gears from the other players in the space by developing their console mostly on causal gaming and budget sense game console for a wider audience. Let me say this upfront and be clear,  these are only rumors and hearsay at this point of the ball game. Nintendo has not really given any official details about the NX yet. They only mentioned they’re  working on a new system and have decided to stay quiet on the subject for now to avoid their competitors from borrowing their ideas. The corporate team at Nintendo also stated the Nintendo NX will be a new home console and nothing in terms of a portable device like a Android or Iphone like device. So with that small tidbit the system want be a new portable device from Nintendo.

This is not the Nintendo NX console. Just a old console graphic.

Nintendo President and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime provided some insight on the direction for the new console in a new interview with WSJ.

From a Nintendo perspective, we clearly have strength here in the Americas, we have strength in Europe and we have strength in Japan. That isn’t necessarily true of some of our more direct competitors. We’ve also said publicly that we are already hard at work on our next home console and that’s another element we’ll be talking about much later.

With the Wii U total worldwide shipped at 9.5 million it could be time in the near future for a new console from Nintendo. Other console manufacturer’s consoles are outperforming the Wii U in terms of units shipped. I think the NX from Nintendo will be a cool but can it recapture the market with Android and iOS games popularity continue to grow.
