Posted by: on Mar 2, 2015 | No Comments

Today in Barcelona Spain, Samsung broke the news on the new Samsung Galaxy S6 phone called the “Samsung Galaxy S6” at a Samsung Unpacked event at the Mobile World Congress. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the successor to the Galaxy S5. Also, at the conference, Samsung introduce a variant called the “Galaxy S6 Edge” alongside the standard Galaxy S6 phone. The Galaxy S6 Edge has a curved screen for side view notifications. Do I think the design “curve” for the S6 Edge is useful? Maybe, but the S6 Edge “curve”  debate is ongoing, since  reports on the  “curve” design are mixed.

For the record, I really love the name “Galaxy S6 Edge” and I must admit I like the curve design. The new sleek Galaxy S6 Edge variant curve design does look nice based on the images I seen. The Samsung has  replaced the plastic back frame which was on the S5 phone with a new metal and glass frame for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices. From the reports; it’s no longer waterproof and the micro SD is gone. also, another new upgrade is the Galaxy S6 also has a non-removable battery compared to the removable battery for the older S5 phone.

The new S6 Galaxy specifications include a 64-bit Exynos 7420 chipset with 14nm architecture; octa-core CPU (quad 2.1GHz & quad 1.5GHz). This time around Samsung realize that mobile users wanted more than just functional phone but a phone that has a nice design. We did a post last week anticipating the news on the new Galaxy S6. I think Samsung did a great job with this new device and I’m working to get a S6 Galaxy phone to test. I hope to have a more detail review once we get a S6 to test in our geek hands!
