Must-See Blockbuster Movies in 2015!

There are quite a few largely anticipated movies being released in the coming year. Here, we will take a quick look at what we believe will be the eight biggest blockbuster hits of 2015! Let’s hump right into the TechGeniux “Must-See Blockbusters Movies in 2015! Drum roll….


Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens

Open December 15, 2015

This film is written, directed and produced by J. J. Abrams and is a somewhat controversial addition to the Star Wars legacy. George Lucas has been included as a writer. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker all plan to return to the big screen along with quite a few other.

Even though the synopsis is only rumors and whispers at this time, the general consensus is that the new chapter will be set thirty years after Return of the Jedi. The Jedi Order is being rebuilt by Luke, Leia and Leia’s husband, Han Solo. The characters have changed a bit since last we saw them. In the meantime, the Sith have been growing and evolving and now a new threat emerges that will not only challenge our heroes, but perhaps the entire galaxy.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Opens May 1, 2015

This film was written and directed by Joss Whedon through the legendary comic books of Stan Lee and will star Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo.

Tony Stark takes it upon himself to jumpstart a peacekeeping program (Ultron, which has been dormant) in order to give the Avengers a much needed break from crime stopping. Ultron, an artificial intelligence that is self-aware and self-teaching, concludes that humans are the real enemy of Earth and decides they must be destroyed. The Avengers must come together to stop Ultron before it’s too late.

Crimson Peak

Opens October 16, 2015

Guillermo del Toro returns as the writer and director of yet another massively anticipated horror film. Filling out the main cast are Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska.

Set in the 19th century in Cumbria, a rural area in the mountains of northern England, author and newly married Edith Cushing, and her charming husband Sir Thomas Sharpe, find themselves in a house that seems to be alive and out for revenge.


Opens May 22, 2015

Written by Damon Lindelof and directed by Brad Bird. This film stars Britt Robertson, Judy Greer, George Clooney, Kathryn Hahn, and Hugh Laurie.

A former boy-genius, and a scientifically-minded and optimistic teenager, both seem to share a destiny. They set out on a journey to understand a world they have discovered somewhere between space and time, existing in their collective memory.

The Hateful Eight

Opens November 13, 2015

Another film from acclaimed cult writer and director Quentin Tarantino. This film will star Channing Tatum and Samuel L. Jackson, along with Kurt Russel , Walton Goggins, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

When a blizzard bares down on a region in Wyoming, sometime following the Civil War, eight westerners take shelter in a stagecoach stopover in the mountains. But will they all make it out alive?



Opens November 6, 2015

The director is Sam Mendes and it will star Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, and Monica Bellucci.

James Bond is set out to understand the inner workings of sinister institution SPECTRE because of a cryptic message he receives. M, the head of the Secret Intelligence Service, fights to protect MI6 against the pressures of politics. As Bond begins discovering the true nature of things surrounding SPECTRE, it may unravel his values.


Mission Impossible 5

This fifth chapter in the M:I saga was written by Drew Pearce and Will Staples, and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. It will star, as assumed, Tom Cruise, as well as Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Alec Baldwin.

Currently, little is known about the synopsis of the film, but an action-packed, musically driven plot is expected.


Furious 7

Opens April 3, 2015

The director is James Wan and star Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham.

After defeating Owen Shaw and his crew, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and the rest of the crew are able to return to the United States and live normal lives again as they had wanted. However, Owen’s older brother, Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), is after Dom and his crew, seeking revenge for his brother’s death and putting the entire crew in danger once more. After learning of Han’s death, the crew sets out to find the man who killed one of their own, before he finds them first. (Source Wikipedia)
