Terminator Genisys Fail To Capture Top Spot At Box Office!

Posted by: on Jul 6, 2015 | No Comments

This weekend of July 3-5 seen the release of two new movies and from the numbers at the box office it seem like the newcomers fail short of knocking last week number one out of the top slot. The number one movie this week at the box office is Jurassic World with $30.9 million this week. With a $1.3 billion worldwide total it seems that Jurassic World will remain at the top spot worldwide.

The number two film on the TechGeniux top 10 slots belong to Pixar Inside Out with $30 million. The next film on the list at the number three spot belongs to Terminator Genisys with $28.7 million. The $28.7 million estimate is well below the estimated $40 million tally that was expected from the film. I seen the film today and I can say I’m really on the fence on this one. I think all the actors did a great job with the material and the story serviceable. I think fail short because it didn’t really bring nothing new to the series.  I’m not sure if a sequel will be made because of the low box office. The overseas market seems to give hope if the film can capture about $350 million before the film exit the theaters. With the overseas tally Terminator Genisys did $129 million on a budget of $155 million. Even with the star power of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke the film still fail short. The reviews were definitely harsh but I had a good time with the film. The number four slot belongs to Magic Mike XXL another newcomer this weekend. The reviews for Magic Mike weren’t as high as the first film. The film did $11.6 million this weekend. I think Magic Mike has lost his magic. The number five film on our list this week is Ted 2 with $11 million.
