It’s Here! Google’s Project Fi has arrived! Well ladies and gentlemen the number one search giant in the world made a big move in the  mobile market with the highly speculated debut of its new wireless service called Project Fi today. Google made the announcement a few hours ago as we predicted today. Google also provided a few details regarding this announcement such as a partnership with Sprint and T-Mobile which will be responsible for traffic for Project Fi wireless service.

Google Project Fi Wireless Service will Require A Nexus 6 Device

Google’s data plan will truly put a hurt on the big wireless carriers like AT&T and Verizon which charge customers a fix rate for data no matter how much you utilize. The new Project Fi service will allow users to make calls via Wi-Fi networks when in range of a Wi-Fi hotspot and allow users to switch service between the two networks depending on which signal is stronger.

The Project Fi comes with one simple pricing plan states Google. Just for $20 a month, subscribers get the basics: talk, text, Wi-Fi tethering and international coverage. It’s $10 per gigabyte of data after that for cellular data while in the U.S. and abroad. The plan refunds any data you don’t use. I’m really interested to see what mobile users think about this new ultra low price for mobile service. It could really be a game changer.
As we reported yesterday, the Project Fi service will only support the Google Nexus 6 phone. I’m not sure how this will affect users and new customer sign-ups but the search giant has made a huge move in the wireless network market that will surely get the other highly positioned players on their toes to fight for the dwindling customer’s opportunities.

Project Fi uses new technology to give you more speed and better connections to Wi-Fi.

Google Project Fi Price Plan: Plan starts with the Fi Basics for $20 per month. This includes:

  • Unlimited domestic talk and text
  • Unlimited international texts
  • Low-cost international calls
  • Wi-Fi tethering
  • Coverage in 120+ countries

Then it’s $10 per GB for data. $10 for 1GB, $20 for 2GB, $30 for 3GB and so on. That’s it. With no annual contract required.
