Ted 2 Can’t Bring Down Jurassic World At The Box Office!

Posted by: on Jun 29, 2015 | No Comments

This week June 26-28 at the box office saw the release of Seth MacFarlane Ted 2. However, Ted 2 was no match for the number one film this week Jurassic World with $54 million this week. It was close but Jurassic World took the number one spot in the US, the film also took in $1 billion worldwide. Jurassic World continues to keep crushing box off records and the film will continue to put up impressive numbers for a few weeks! Pixar Inside Out remain strong in the number two spot on our list this week with a with a solid $52 million just slightly losing to Jurassic World by a few million. As previously stated Ted 2 fell short of the number one spot but seen a modest $33 million tally to take the number three spot on the TechGeniux top ten movie list. Ted 2 was directed by Seth MacFarlane and written by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. It is the sequel to the 2012 film Ted, the film stars MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried. The film was distributed by Universal Pictures.

Just like Ted 2 this week seen another new release, Max (2015). The Warner Bros. film earned $12 million this week to take the number four slot. The film is directed by Boaz Yakin, and co-written with Sheldon Lettich. The film stars Josh Wiggins, Dejon LaQuake, Thomas Haden Church, Robbie Amell, Lauren Graham, Luke Kleintank, and Jay Hernandez. Max is a family adventure about an incredible canine that served in the military that has signs of PTSD. I seen the trailer a few weeks ago and really didn’t know how to approach this film because of the subject matter. It’s a family film with some serious undertones to how PTSD not only affects soldiers but the pets that support our soldiers. The number five slot belongs to Melissa McCarthy Spy with a respectable $7.8 million with a domestic total of $88.3 million with world total of $144 million.

TechGeniux remaining top 10 Box Office Movies list:
6. San Andreas $5.2 million
7. Dope $2.8 million
8. Insidious Chapter 3 $2.0 million
9. Mad Max: Fury Road $1.7 million
10. Avengers: Age of Ultron $1.6 million

This week the box office was down some but I suspect things will pick up with next month releases like Terminator Genisys and Marvel’s Ant Man to name a few.
