The Apple Watch Is Here!!!

Posted by: on Mar 10, 2015 | No Comments

The Apple Watch is here! Today during the Apple live event Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the pricing and ship date for the new Apple Watch. As always, Apple delivered a well designed device with a range of function to support other Apple related products such as Apple Pay, receive phone calls, support iMessage and SMS text messages. The Apple Watch will support connections via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0. The Apple Watch ships with the new Apple S1 processor and comes equipped with a linear actuator called the “Taptic Engine” to provide haptic vibrations when an alert or a notification is received. I’m not sure if any of this technology is revolutionary but Apple has the greatest marketing team in the world so expect the Apple Watch to really excite the Apple fan base.

The Apple Watch has a ship date of April 24, 2015 with a introductory price of $349, $549 and a whopping $10K Edition Apple Watch for the elite watch enthusiasts. The feedback for the new Apple Watch has been fair with a few mixed reviews. The watch is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus and support iOS 8.2. The big question is, “Can Apple convince enough people to pay $350 for a smart watch?”I think…YES!

I think Apple will sale a few million Apple Watches in 2015 and maintain solid sales over the next few years. Some reports estimate sales for the Apple Watch could see 40 million watches ordered this year (Wow! That’s crazy). With competition coming from the Pebble Time watch and other smart watches, I think the smartwatch market is about to mature in regards of highly advance smart watches coming to market over the next few years. The Apple Watch can now be preordered from the Apple website today. Look for our full overview of the Apple Watch coming next week.
