Artificial Intelligent Devices will Rule the World!

Posted by: on Feb 24, 2015 | No Comments

This article is part 1 of 10 editorial piece on  artificial intelligence and how it will one day completely change the world we live in.

Artificial intelligence, AI, is a mechanical intelligence created by scientists and engineers and put into machines or software. It is also an academic field of study that determines the goal of creating intelligence. An intelligence agent is a system that recognizes its environment and takes steps to maximize success. Artificial intelligence is intelligent machines.

The Birth of Artificial Intelligence

New types of computer chips that operate more like the brain are out to narrow the gulf between artificial and natural computation. Artificial intelligence will soon work on circuits that crunch through logical operations and devices that run by themselves. One great example of artificial intelligence is a recent drive to improve artificial intelligence algorithms for autonomous vehicles, manufacturing robots, search-and-rescue robots, and even poker playing champion robots.

Google’s driverless car is an autonomous vehicle capable of working just like a traditional car. It is capable of sensing its own environment and navigating without human intervention. Mostly these cars are prototypes and demonstration systems, but Google’s car has been designed to be street legal. Driverless or autonomous cars sense their surrounding using radar, lidar, GPS and computer vision. Advanced online systems interpret sensory information to identify roads and obstacles. Driverless cars are passenger carriers; they are designed to eliminate road crashes and reduce traffic deaths, and they are man’s new way of working while traveling to and from work.

Drones or unmanned aerial vehicle are aircraft with a human pilot. Autonomous aircraft are not really suitable for use since there are still legal and regulatory issues. Remotely piloted aircraft are subject to civil regulation. The launch and recovery methods for an autonomous aircraft is through an automatic system. They are being used more and more by police and firefighters, nonmilitary security work, inspection of power or pipelines and for missions that are dull, dangerous or too dirty for manned aircraft. A good definition of a drone or aerial artificial intelligence vehicle is “powered, aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle life, can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely, … can carry a lethal or nonlethal payload (

OTON™ is the first artificial intelligence game console. It will have enough artificial intelligence to create its own games. It self-creates games and content, and it does it much faster than a human creator. The system is under development from a small smart-up called EnGeniux with ambitions to create the first autonomous game console. The process is still ongoing, but it is predicted that what you can do with this console will revolutionize the gaming industry, and maybe computers?

You may not think of your iPhone as having artificial intelligence, but what is Siri? It works as a personal assistant and knowledge navigator. Natural language user interfaces are used to answer questions, perform actions, and make recommendations. Siri adapts to the user’s individual searches. Touted as a “time-saver” app, Siri s artificial intelligence programming at its best and is aimed to adapt to the user’s individual preferences.  Travel back to 2001 and the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence, will robots someday resemble people so closely in intelligence and physical makeup, they become totally human?

Full disclosure, the OTON game console is under development from the EnGeniux Corporation which also operate and hire bloggers for the TechGeniux blog.
